Lolla After-Party Featuring: Porter Robinson & Madeon

July 6, 2012

Porter Robinson and Madeon will be at the Mid to keep it live late night for the first of our Lollapalooza After-parties!
Porter Robinson’s first trip to Chicago sold out one week!

Porter Robinson’s music has been described as “masterful eclecticism” and who can argue with that? Certainly not us. At only 19-years-old, Robinson brings to the table an unprecedented blend of sound that fuses elements of dubstep, electro house, moombahton and even trance. The result is a one-of-a-kind sound best described as “complextro” – a term coined by Robinson himself.

His relentless work ethic and mastery of the crowd caught the ears of Grammy Award winning producer, Skrillex, who donned Robinson as, “one of the most incredible songwriters in EDM”.  Now signed to Skrillex’s OWSLA label and recently added to the DJ Mag Top 100, the list of accolades continues to grow. His inaugural 11 track EP, Spitfire hit #1 on the Beatport Charts and received praise all across the industry.

Later in 2011, React Presents invited Porter Robinson to the Congress Theater with 1/3rd of the Swedish House Mafia, Sebastian Ingrosso. Check out the video here!

Sharing the bill with Robinson is an even younger, new producer from Nantes, France known as Madeon, and if you’re not familiar with him yet, you probably should be. At a mere 17-years-old, he is certainly one of the youngest producers in the game and also one of the hottest. His unique blend of pop, house, and electro first came to the light in a remix contest for Pendulum’s track “The Island”, which Madeon won. He has not left the limelight since.

His debut single, “Icarus” peaked at number 2 on the global Beatport chart and placed all over the UK Top 40 radio. He has toured across the globe and earned support from the likes of Pete Tong, Alan Braxe, Skrillex and Rob Swire. His official remixes of Deadmau5’ “Raise Your Weapon” and Martin Solveig’s “Night Out” have earned him respect all across the industry. He was also recently featured on Annie Mac’s radio show where he performed a groundbreaking mini-mix. While he may be young, Madeon can certainly keep up with the big cats and very big things are expected from him in the future.
