OWSLA mainstay and Skrillex-prodigy Mija will be taking her epic, 12-stop FK A GENRE Tour to Chicago’s The MID on Saturday, November 5 alongside very special guests! Grab your tickets to the fall showcase now through Clubtix.com.
From Miami to Phoenix, Mija is drawing appearances from some of the most diverse and talented DJs and producers in the business as part of her unprecedented U.S. tour. Having been involved in the dance music circuit ever since her teenage years, Mija’s now-familial relationship with label OWSLA has spawned a world of opportunity for the budding DJ and producer. Her remixes and originals with the likes of Ghastly & Lil Jon, Major Lazer, DJ Snake, Vindata and A-trak have propelled her DJ career into new heights.
She will be joined first and foremost by Lunice, half of notorious trap duo TNGHT, who is primed to bring his signature strain of hip hop and bass music to the front of the festivities. The Montreal-born producer has worked with the likes of Diplo, Azaelia Banks and more, and he has served as a judge on the 13th and 14th Annual Independent Awards during the past two years. His contributions have helped assist up and coming artists of all shapes and sizes, leading to a reputation high enough to warrant the headlining position at Mija’s Chicago stop.
Next up are two members of Chicago-based footwork and juke record label Teklife, DJSpinn and Taso. Spinn, a close associate and collaborator of the late DJ Rashad, has a rich history both in the city and around the world, having been one of the highest acclaimed contributors to some of the most noteworthy events in the international circuit. Taso’s multi-instrumentalist approach and his powerful roster of releases through such labels as Hyperdub, Tempa and Deep Medi Musik make him a worthy addition to the November MID takeover.
Rounding out the list are Detroit duo GolfClap, known for their long list of releases under the most influential house labels in the scene and legendary live mixing skills. Their own label, Country Club Disco, has helped to usher in the next waves of sound to the masses, and their coveted Boiler Room set in their hometown has cemented their significance in the community. This week, the duo even released a nine-track compilation, Back Nine LP, through the label, including several original tracks of their own.
Join the crew at The MID on Saturday, November 5 for an evening of raucous sounds and inclusive atmosphere for lovers of any and all dance genres.
